Who I Am
Born in Istanbul in 1985 and now based in Bursa, I studied Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies in Romania. I am married and the father of a son—two roles that have deeply shaped the way I understand responsibility, fear, sacrifice, and the choices people make under pressure.
In 2017, I founded Caner Film, providing promotional video and corporate photography services to local businesses. Years spent behind the camera trained me to think in images: to build atmosphere through light, discover emotion in small gestures, and find the hidden story inside an ordinary moment.
A cancer diagnosis in 2021 forced me to step away from my career. I returned to work in 2024, but changing economic conditions led me to close the company in 2025.
What initially felt like an ending gradually became a creative turning point. I began transforming the stories, characters, and ideas I had accumulated over the years into screenplays.
In 2026, I decided to continue my professional journey as a screenwriter. My background in visual production still shapes everything I write—from framing and rhythm to atmosphere and cinematic structure. Today, I am developing a growing slate of feature films and television projects while remaining in active dialogue with producers and literary managers internationally. For me, screenwriting is not a departure from filmmaking; it is the continuation of everything I have always wanted to do: tell stories that surprise, provoke, and remain with the audience.
